Last Resort version 1.00, for Windows 3.0/3.1
INSTALLATION:
If you have any trouble with the install program, you can manually install
by following these instructions:
1) Copy the files:
lresort.exe
lresort.hlp
lresorta.dll
bwcc.dll
to a directory in your path. If you don't know how to modify your DOS path,
copy the files to your Windows directory.
2) If you are running Windows version 3.0:
a) Check your Windows\System
directory for the file
commdlg.dll
If this file is not there, copy it to the Windows\System directory from the
install disk. If this file is already in the Windows\System directory, you
don't need to copy the file from the install disk.
b) You will need to create a program manager group and Icon for Last
Resort, as per your Windows documentation.
3) If you are running Windows version 3.1, copy the file
lresortc.cpl
to your Windows\System directory. To Run Last Resort, you will find an
Icon already in the Control Panel.
4) Run Last Resort to use it and configure it.
UNINSTALLING LAST RESORT:
1) Run Last Resort.
2) From the configuration dialog box, de-select the autoload option.
This removes the changes Last Resort made to the 'LOAD' line in your WIN.INI
file in your Windows directory. Last Resort never changes anything else
in your Windows configuration files (WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI).
3) You may also want to retrieve the text that Last Resort maintains to a
file, by choosing the 'Retrieve Text to File button'.
4) Close Last Resort.
5) If you are running Windows 3.0, delete the Last Resort program manager
group and icon.
6) In the directory you installed Last Resort into, delete the files:
lresort.exe
lresort.hlp
lresorta.dll
bwcc.dll
lresort.bin
lresort.ini
7) If you are running Windows 3.0, you can also delete the file
commdlg.dll
from the Windows\System directory. You may, however, want to leave this
file installed, as other applications designed for Windows 3.1 may need it.
8) If you are running Windows 3.1, delete the file
lresortc.cpl
from your Windows\System directory.
9) Lastly, you may want to remove the Last Resort directory from your
path statement in your autoexec.bat file.
